Nagano City Area

As the largest city in Nagano Prefecture, Nagano City is the most convenient point from where to explore the many attractions of the region. The city itself is best-known for its near-1400 year old Zenko-ji Temple, while popular destinations including the forest shrines of Togakushi, the Jigokudani Monkey Park and ski resorts of Nagano are all within easy reach. Visitors to Nagano discover a small and pleasant city that can be explored on-foot and offering plenty of accommodation and dining options.

Nagano Station is a stop on the Hokuriku Shinkansen line running from Tokyo to Kanazawa, making it readily accessible and a very convenient area at which to base yourself. You have plenty of accommodation options in and around the station, most of which are large to mid-sized hotels with Western-style rooms and amenities. As Nagano’s No.1 tour operator, most of our tours start and finish at the station with train lines and buses also connecting to popular regional destinations including Matsumoto, Karuizawa, Nagoya and more!
