Laying right on the edge of Lake Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park and its Natural Living Centre are a must visit if you’re venturing to Kawaguchiko and to see Mount Fuji. It is said that the park offers the best views of Fuji due to the colourful flowers and beautiful view of the Lake on the horizon.

To reach the park, visitors arriving at Kawaguchiko station should take the red line Sightseeing bus to the Oishi Park bus stop. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes depending on traffic and how busy the bus is. The park is free to enjoy, and is very family friendly. It is open 24 hours a day, so even makes for a great early morning or evening activity. The Natural living Centre is open all week from 9am – 5.15pm.

Oishi Park is famous for its flower garden. Filled with a large variety of flower and plant species, the garden’s landscape is consistently changing throughout the seasons with different flowers and colours on display. Visitors can enjoy taking many beautiful photos here. In the month of June and July, Kawaguchiko and Oishi Park are famous for the Lavender that blooms here, and there is a Lavender and Herb festival held.

The park is quite large, and you can easily spend 1 hour here having a relaxing walk, taking photos and enjoying the views of Mount Fuji. As the park is right next to the Lake, visitors are able to get up close to the water to enjoy nature and take even more amazing photos.

In addition to the beautiful garden and surrounding landscape, visitors can also enjoy the park’s Natural Living Centre. A modern facility with cafes, snacks and great souvenirs to buy. The centre is known for its soft serve ice cream in many different flavours, including its famous Lavender. The centre sells a wide variety of Fuji themed goods, with many items being exclusive to the park. It is well worth stopping inside for a snack and to pick up some shopping!
