Tanabe City Area

Tanabe City is a convenient start or end point for visitors walking the pilgrimage trails of the Kumano Kodo. Tanabe can be easily accessed via Kii-Tanabe Station from where bus services run to and from locations within the Kumano Kodo area. The city offers a range of accommodation with the hot spring/beach resort of Shirahama only 15 kilometres from the city.

Tanabe City can be easily reached via Kii-Tanabe Station. The Limited Express Kurushio runs from Shin-Osaka Station to Kii-Tanabe Station - taking approximately 2 hours. To reach Tanabe City from Nagoya, take the Tokaido Shinkansen to Shin-Osaka and then transfer to the Limited Express Kurushio
