Visitors to Matsumoto will enjoy one of Central Japan’s most historic city where the past lives on in the form of its famous castle and historic streets full of old merchant stores. Travelers wanting to add a little more fun and colour to their experience can do so by dressing in a traditional ‘kimono’ or for the kids, kimono and ninja costumes which can be rented for a couple of hours or a full-day.

Available from the Hanakomichi store located only 2-minutes walk from the castle and 15-minutes walk from Matsumoto Station, rental clothing is available from Wednesday to Sunday. Being dressed in a kimono is all part of the experience; a process that takes around 15-minutes and will be done for you by one of the shop attendants.

Advanced booking is not required and you can just walk into the store to arrange your rental between the hours of 10:00 to 17:00, Wednesday to Sunday.
