Nagano is synonymous with apples and one of great pleasures for visitors to the region is sampling the delicious fruit while it’s in season.

Shiozaki Farm has been producing some the region’s best apples for years and each autumn is open to the public for apple-picking. Located a short walk from JR Iiyama Station, the farm provides English-speaking guides to introduce visitors to the region and the reasons that Nagano’s apples are so tasty and sought after!

Open everyday from Late July until December, the farm is well-known for 6 apple varieties, each bigger and more delicious than the last. Visitors are given unlimited time to pick from the orchards and all-you-can-eat while at the farm (with the additional option of taking 3 more apples with you for a small additional fee). There’s no better way to enjoy the splendid Japanese autumn than outdoors and sampling one of Nagano’s best known products.
