Tempozan Harbor Village
Situated on a man-made island on Osaka Bay, Tempozan Harbor Village takes a little time to get to but is hugely popular destination thanks to the number of attractions it boasts. Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan and LEGOLAND Discovery Center are the most prominent of those attractions, which along with the Tempozan Marketplace and Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho shopping, dining and entertainment hubs, the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel and Santa Maria cruise ship – a to-scale replica of Columbus’s flagship which ferries sightseers around the bay.
Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan – open daily from 10:00 to 19:00 – is the most famous attraction, regularly rated as both the best in Japan and Asia, while LEGOLAND attracts lots of international visitors – open daily from 10:00 to 18:00. Tempozan Marketplace is home to around 80 shops, restaurants and entertainment venues – open daily 11:00 to 20:00 – while Naniwa Kuishinbo Yokocho is a food them park that recreates 1960s Osaka – open daily from 11:00 to 20:00. At 100 metres in diameter and 112.5 metres tall, the Tempozan Giant Ferris Wheel is one of the largest in the world, taking 15-miuntes to ride and providing great views – open daily from 11:00 to 20:00.
