Located only a short distance from Toyama Station, Ikedaya Yasubei Shoten is a traditional chemist selling a wide variety of traditional remedies including Japanese and Chinese medicines.

Traditional pharmacists are on-hand to discuss your needs and prepare traditional medicine for you, including the unique opportunity to press your own pills – the only place in Japan where you can try this! Solo visitors, couples and small groups can try pressing their own pills at anytime. Large groups should contact the chemist in advance to book a time.

Ikedaya Yasubei Shoten also includes a restaurant serving meals including medicinal herbs. The restaurant is open from 11:30 to 14:00 but closed on Wednesdays.
