Located in the heart of Shinjuku, Kabukicho and the beloved Godzilla statue are a popular hot spot for many tourists visiting Tokyo. Shinjuku is very central to many other attractions, including Shinjuku Gyoen Garden, the Shinjuku Historical Museum and Hanazono Shrine. Shinjuku is also great for shopping, and many large department stores and brands have shops here.

Kabukicho over recent years has been giving a cleaner cut image, with investments to make the area more clean, modern and tourist friendly. Visitors will find many shops, restaurants and games arcades here. It is a great area to visit if you want to experience the bright lights, neon signs and billboards of Tokyo. Night time strolls around the Shinjuku area make for a fun activity where you can take great night time photos of Tokyo. If you’re looking for somewhere to have drinks, we recommend ‘Golden Gai’, a small network of narrow alleyways full of cosy and authentic Japanese bars.

The newest addition to the Kabukicho area is ’Kabukicho Tower’. A 48 floor tower complex with a hotel, games arcade, nightclub, bars and restaurants. The tower is right next to the centre of Kabukicho and the Godzilla statue.

Built in 2015, the Godzilla statue is located on the 8th floor of Hotel Gracery. Guests of the hotel and visitors can both enjoy getting up close to Godzilla! For visitors, you will need to make a reservation at the hotel’s cafe. So why not have a coffee and some delicious food with Godzilla! The hotel lobby also has Godzilla memorabilia for visitors to enjoy. If you’re a really big fan, Hotel Gracery offers two Godzilla themed rooms visitors can stay in, but they book up very quickly!
