The best way to discover any country and get to know the people is through its food and drink! This casual yet engaging guided tour takes you to multiple locations in Matsumoto City at night so you can do just that – enjoying the city’s renowned food, drink and nightlife in combination with an evening visit to its iconic castle. Tours are led by a locally-based, English-speaking guide who will take you to three ‘izakaya’ to enjoy local ‘sake’ and cuisine with multiple dishes. A visit to an izakaya is all about enjoying good food, good drink and good conversation with whoever is there – making it a great way to meet the locals with the assistance of your guide. During the tour your guide will also walk you around the city’s famous castle. Illuminated at night it’s a great way to learn a little more about its history and importance to the people of Matsumoto, while capturing some great photographs*.

Available upon on request at all times of year, tours are typically conducted between 19:00 until 22:00 or 20:00 to 23:00, with the booking office open from 08:00 to 18:00.
