Sake Brewery Tour in Matsumoto
Nagano Prefecture is Japan’s second largest producer of ‘sake’ and as such, visiting a brewery while in the region is a great way to dive that little bit deeper into the local culture. Kametaya Sake Brewery is located on the outskirts of Matsumoto City, inviting visitors from all over the world to visit, learn and enjoy Japan’s national drink. Operating since 1869, Kametaya offers tours that walk visitors through the brewery and brewing process, the Meiji-era historic family homestead, and of course a guided sake-tasting.
Your English-speaking guide will meet you at Matsumoto Station and accompany you every step of the way. Guests of any age can join the tour however please note, the legal drinking age in Japan is 20 years of age. Children aged 6 and under can join the tour for free. Tours take 2-hours and can be arranged for 10:45 until 12:45 or 13:45 until 15:45 with the booking office open from 08:00 to 18:00. Bookings can be made using the phone number and email listed above.
