The Museum opened in 1995, it has since become an important venue to showcase contemporary amd historical works. The Museum’s collection is extensive and ranges from early 19th Century to more modern pieces. It regularly hosts special exhibitions on trends in photography and visual culture, keeping content fresh and engaging.
Exhibitions vary in the themes, subjects and periods captured, from emerging contemporary photographers, to the famous, and historically important collections. Not just a gallery, TOP seeks to support and promote photography as an art form , regularly hosting events as an arena for international exchange.
As well as photography, the Museum also has screenings and events dedicated to film and video. These range from more experimental cinema to documentary based films. Visitors can also enjoy various workshops, lectures and educational events to help deepen visitor’s understanding and interest in art.
