Tokyo Tower

Built in 1958 in Minato ward and nearby the luxury area of Roppongi, Tokyo Tower is now the oldest observation tower in Tokyo. However, the retro charm of the Tower is beloved by locals here in the city and across Japan, and we highly recommend that you pay a visit to this great observatory on your trip!

The shape and design of the structure was heavily influenced by the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris. However, standing at 333 meters tall, Tokyo Tower is actually 13 meters taller than its French counterpart. The tower has two decks visitors can go up to, the main deck (150m high ) and the top deck (250m high ). Both of which offer great views of the sprawling city of Tokyo! You can buy tickets just for the main deck, or you can buy a combined ticket for the main deck and top deck to enjoy both levels!

Tokyo Tower has plenty of food, drink and shopping options to enjoy as well. With an entire complex built beneath the two decks known as ’Foot Town’ where you can eat and drink at many cafes, restaurants and buy unique Tokyo Tower souvenirs! So you can easily spend a few hours here enjoying the views and facilities.

Monday – Friday is quieter than the weekend, so you may be ok to turn up without booking. However, weekends are especially busy so we highly recommend booking tickets in advance as they can sell out. You can do this online on the Tokyo Tower website, or using Klook where you buy many attraction and train tickets using foreign bank cards so its very easy and convenient for travellers to Japan!
