Uji's Historical Tea Museum and Park

Chazuna, also known as the Tea Museum and Park in Uji, offers visitors a chance to dive into the rich culture of tea production in this famous region. Nestled in the heart of Uji’s tea-growing countryside, Chazuna provides an interactive and educational experience for those keen to learn about the history, cultivation, and artistry of Japanese tea. The museum features displays about tea’s significance in Japanese culture, various production techniques, and the science behind tea’s health benefits. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding tea fields, which create a serene backdrop for exploration.

The park also allows hands-on experiences, such as picking tea leaves or learning the basics of tea processing. These activities cater to those curious about the tea-making process and its connection to Japan’s cultural heritage.

While we don’t include Chazuna in our itineraries, we invite you to join one of our specially curated Uji tours. These tours delve into Uji’s vibrant tea culture with experiences such as a matcha tea-making workshop, visits to iconic temples like Byodoin and Ujigami Shrine, and an in-depth exploration of the city’s historical streets and cultural treasures.
