Easy to Access Using Public Transport
Located directly across from the Takamagahara ski fields, Hotel Sunny Shiga is easy to access by express and public buses, taxi and private car. Hotel Sunny Shiga is ideally positioned near the centre of the resort. Situated across from the Takamagahara ski fields and chairlifts, guests have direct access to the central ski area – a brief walk from the hotel.
Bus stops located in front of the hotel mean that it is equally convenient for guests using public transport to travel to and from the resort, or making use of the free-time daytime shuttle around Shiga Kogen.
Most guests headed to Shiga Kogen will do so via Nagano Station. With regular services each day in winter, the Nagaden Express Bus is an easy and comfortable way to reach the hotel. Departing from Bus Stop No.23 – outside the station’s East Exit – tickets are purchased directly from the driver when on the bus. Disembark at the Takamagahara bus stop – approximately 80 minutes.
In winter, regular local buses run from Yudanaka Station – the nearest train station to Shiga Kogen and the Jigokudani Monkey Park – and within the resort itself. For visitors coming from Nagano Station, the Nagaden train line takes approximately 45 minutes to reach Yudanaka. From there, board a local bus service headed for Shiga Kogen and disembark at the Takamagahara bus stop – approximately 45 minutes.
From Yudanaka Station, taxis are also available to make the journey to Sunny Shiga. A one-way fare from the station to the hotel will typically cost around JPY6500-7000. For guests coming to the hotel using their own car, Sunny Shiga offers free parking to guests.
