Fuji Rock Festival
Taking place on the last weekend of July each year, Fuji Rock Festival is Japan’s largest music festival. Attracting some of the world’s top bands and performers, the festival draws huge crowds with numbers having swelled to over 100,000 attendees during some recent years.
The festival occurs over three days, during which international and Japanese artists before across seven main stages and many other small stages and venues dotted through the festival grounds.
The festival takes place at Naeba Ski Resort nearby Echigo-Yuzawa Station on the Joetsu Shinkansen Line running from Tokyo to Niigata. Camping is available on-site but with the festival attracting so many people, don’t expect to have much room when looking for a place to pitch your tent. Always popular, tickets sell-out fast.
