The Nagano Flower Festival (長野花まつり) is held every year on May 5th, Children's Day, at Zenko-ji Temple. On this day and the few days surrounding, it offers few events throughout the Nagano-city.
A yearly event is a parade from Hongan-ji Nagano Betsu-in to Zenko-ji Temple, including university's brass band, girl scouts and little children dressed in beautiful kimono or hakama. At Zenko-ji Temple they will receive sweet tea and a little present.
