Hakuba Cortina / Norikura Area
As the most northern resorts in the Hakuba Valley, Hakuba Cortina Snow Resort and Hakuba Norikura Onsen Snow Resort take a little more effort to get to, but when the snow is good it’s great and you’ll be very happy you made the effort.Around 25 to 30-minutes to the north of the Hakuba Happo Bus Terminal / central Hakuba village, if you’re intending to enjoy the joint resorts of Cortina and Norikura for more than one day, you might want to consider staying in the area. As the larger of the two resorts, Cortina is serviced by the very large Hotel Green Plaza at the base of the ski fields, while Norikura has a couple of large hotels and smaller guesthouses. Norikura also boasts a couple of accommodation options with ‘onsen’ (natural hot springs) – hugely enjoyable at the end of a long day on the mountain. Of course, should you prefer to be more centrally-located, both resorts can be reached from the Hakuba Village Area and combined with visitors to nearby resorts including Tsugaike Kogen, Iwatake Snow Field and Hakuba Happo One. For everything you need to know about all the resorts, see our ‘Hakuba Valley Ski Resorts’ page.
