Tsugaike Kogen Snow Resort lies around 8km to the north of Hakuba Village and Hakuba Happo One Snow Resort.Tsugaike is a relatively large, single resort well-suited to beginners. Connected to a decent-sized village itself, Tsugaike can also be used as a base to stay a multi-day visit – although if your intention is to explore multiple resorts, it makes more sense to base yourself in and around the Hakuba Village. Most are family-run and often cheaper than the more popular accommodation areas in Hakuba Village. You won’t find too many high-end options in this area but if you’re after something economical and away from the majority of other international visitors, Tsugaike might appeal to you.
