If you plan on seeing much of the center of Nagano City then the Jizokan Matsuya ryokan is the place to stay for you. It is located right next to the Zenkoji Temple complex. The ryokan is all in Japanese style with futons and an onsen attached to the building. For those not completely comfortable with sharing a bath with other people, the ryokan also has private Western bathrooms in every room. As many of the other traditional Japanese ryokans, the Jizokan Matsuya offers a Japanese-style breakfast and a kaiseki dinner.
