Rusutsu Ski Resort is largest stand-alone resort in Hokkaido, second only to the combined resorts of Niseko United, in terms of size. Often rated Hokkaido’s best ski resort, Rusutsu is spread across three low peaks – Mt Isola, East Mountain and West Mountain – with most accommodation around the base of the West Mt area. Rusutsu is a popular all-year-round resort, – with a golf course, amusement park and convention facilities drawing visitors in green season – with accommodation setup to cater to more than just the ski and snowboard crowd.

Rusutsu Resort Hotel offers both Japanese and Western-style rooms, ski in/out convenience, around twenty restaurants, cafes, bars and food outlets, hot springs and more. The Vale Rusutsu is a large luxury condominium hotel, offering one to four bedrooms suites and condos and ski in/out access to the West Mountain ski fields. The Westin Rusustu rounds-out the resort large high-end hotels and also offers well-appointed modern rooms with a full-suite of amenities and services.

Rusutsu can’t match Niseko for nightlife with most restaurants and bars located within the large hotels. That said, the facilities inside the hotels are excellent and provide guests with a huge range of dining options along with comfortable bars and lounges in which to unwind and take the views of the surrounding resort. Away from the hotels, a handful of lodges and guesthouses provide cheaper, local options but for most visitors, the big appeal of staying in Rusutsu is enjoying the indulgence of its large hotels.
