Yama no Eki is a restaurant/resting place with a very convenient location. It is just a three minute walk from the Hasuike Station, which is the main bus stop in the Shiga area. So if you want to go hiking in the green season, or snowboarding/skiing in the winter season, you’ll pass by Hasuike and the Yama no Eki restaurant.

Yama no Eki is in a very big building, which houses not just the restaurant, but also a souvenir and ski rental shop so quite convenient for those coming for winter sports. From the restaurant you have a lovely view over the valley, the mountains, and the various ski slopes. The main food served here is soba, which you can get hot or cold, but also curry, ramen, and rice dishes.
