While staying at each of the ski resorts is definitely a memorable experience, the growing popularity of the resorts often limits the availability of accommodations as well as the dining facilities, which could be stressful at times. On the other hand, Nagano city offers a variety of accommodation and dining options, making it possible to enjoy both skiing and a comfortable city stay. In addition, there are tourist hot spots such as the Snow Monkey Park and Zenkoji Temple nearby Nagano city, which may enrich your stay in Japan. RESORT STAY PACKAGES Resort Stay Packages refer to ski packages with an accommodation near the ski resort of your choice. Accommodations include ski-in / ski-out accommodations with convenient access to the ski resort; it is definitely recommended for those who seek to maximize their stay at each resorts. We are happy to offer accommodation and ski packages in the following resorts: Shiga Kogen Accommodation & Ski Package As Japan’s largest and highest ski resort, Shiga Kogen is blessed with Nagano’s longest season and most reliable snow. Hosting racing, slalom, and GS competitions during the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics, Shiga Kogen offers some of the finest on-piste experiences that few ski resorts in Japan can match. Whether you want to slash through the snow and compete with your friends to see who can achieve the highest angle, or you want to focus on your form and take your technique to the next level, Shiga Kogen has just the right runs for you! Accommodation is dotted across the resort’s expansive 600ha of terrain with the nearby hot spring villages of Kanbayashi Onsen, Shibu Onsen and Yudanaka Onsen offering a great alternative for visitors wanting to enjoy Japan’s legendary ‘onsen’ culture Hakuba Accommodation & Ski Package The multiple resorts of Hakuba Valley are among Nagano’s most popular, offering a plenty of terrain and the region’s best backcountry skiing and snowboarding. Become a true explorer of the mountain and navigate its diverse terrain—Hakuba welcomes your challenge at any time. Hakuba also boasts the most services for English-speaking visitors and huge range of accommodation including plenty of mid to high-end options, shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Nozawa Onsen Accommodation & Ski Package Nozawa Onsen Ski Resorts offers skiers and snowboarders around 300 hectares of terrain accessible via 36 trails and course. By Japanese standards this makes Nozawa Onsen one the largest resorts in the country, ideally-suited to snowboarders and skiers who love its powder and lively village which offers plenty of dining and fun at night. The runs at Nozawa Onsen Ski Resort are not designed with competition in mind; consequently, they feel more organic and full of unique characteristics. Explore its berms and trees, or find a wide, flat area and practice that one snowboard trick you’ve always wanted to nail. Accommodation ranges from high-end to mid-range ‘ryokan’ (traditional guesthouses), Western-style hotels, budget ski lodges and an increasing number of luxury options including self-contained chalets. Ryuoo and Kijimadaira Accommodation & Ski Package Located around an hour from Nagano Station, Kita Shiga Kogen and Kijimadaira are one of the nearest and most accessible ski areas from Nagano City. Almost unknown to international visitors and most certainly overlooked, the four resorts in the area attract few foreign visitors but remain very popular with locals, who come each winter to enjoy great snow conditions. Karuizawa Accommodation & Ski Package Located just under 1.5 hours from Tokyo Station via the Hokuriku Shinkansen, The Karuizawa Prince Snow Resort – also referred to as the ‘Karuizawa Ski Resort’ – is perhaps the easiest to access and to enjoy ski resort directly from Tokyo. The Karuizawa Prince Snow Resort is a small all-rounder resort catering to all levels with around 30ha of mixed terrain across 16 trails, with a breakdown of 50% beginner runs with 25% of intermediate and advanced runs respectively, making it the perfect place to teach newcomers, while still allowing for some harder runs for those that are experienced skier and boarders. Open all the way from the start of November with artificial snow, the true powder experience starts from late December and lasts all the way to the end of March. The peak of the resort lies at 1,155 meters with the base lifts at 940 meters, making for a maximum descent of 215 meters with excellent views of Mt. Asama along the way. Shiga Kogen Spring Ski Package with Accommodation Sitting between 1330 to 2307 metres above sea level, Shiga is not only substantially higher than any other resort but thanks to its inland location, it also enjoys Nagano’s most reliable snowfall. With that in mind, it should come as no surprise that Shiga Kogen Ski Resort enjoys Nagano’s longest season with higher areas opening as early as November and staying open late into April or even May.

A hot spring town with a history dating back more than 1000 years, visitors are spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing their accommodation with many established hotels and an increasing number of high-end options popping-up each season including private/self-contained luxury accommodation. Of course as an ‘onsen’ (hot spring) town, Nozawa Onsen has its share of ‘ryokan’ (traditional guesthouses) with their own in-house hot springs along with multiple public onsen dotted through the town. Offering lots of restaurants, bars, nightlife and services for English and other foreign language-speakers, Nozawa Onsen is as popular for what’s on offer off the slopes as it is for what’s on offer on the mountain. It’s then time to head to the Snow Monkey Park and its world-famous hot spring-bathing monkeys! All led by a locally-based English-speaking guide, this tour is a great way to see the best that Nagano has to offer. This exciting one-day tour combines a visit to the world-famous Snow Monkeys of Jigokudani with a morning of fun in the deep powder snow of Shiga Kogen – Japan’s largest ski resort! Including lunch and led by a locally-based, English-speaking guide, this tour follows a simple equation: snow monkeys + lots more snow = big fun in Shiga Kogen. Kamakura are traditional igloo-like houses that are built in the snowy regions of Japan. From the last week of January through the end of February, the rural town of Iiyama hosts “The Kamakura Village”, which has become one of the most spectacular snow festivals in Nagano. This tour includes a visit to this Kamakura festival site, combined with a morning of fun simple snow activities in the area that everyone can enjoy. Perfect for those taking a day trip from Tokyo, or who are visiting early or late in the season and don't want to commit to staying several days. Combining our two most popular winter tours with one of Nagano's best 'onsen' (hot spring) stays, this 2-day tour is all about getting the most out of your time in Nagano! Including visits to Zenko-ji Temple and the Jigokudani Monkey Park on Day 1, accommodation in a private villa including dinner and breakfast at Hotarutei, followed by a morning of snow fun activities in Shiga Kogen on Day 2, this tour truly shows-off the best of Nagano in winter. Shukubo, or pilgrims inns, are found at temples around Japan and serve the needs of those coming from far away to pray at the temple. However, you do not need to be a Buddhist to stay, and it can be a great way to learn more about Japanese culture regardless of your spiritual beliefs. On this tour, you will first have a guided tour around the grounds of the 1,500 year old Zenkoji Temple, before being escorted to the shukubo for check in. There your guide will say their goodbyes, and leave you to enjoy a traditional monk's dinner before laying your head to rest in your traditional tatami room. Combining a visit to Nagano’s world-famous Jigokudani Snow Monkey Park and evening exploration of the Zenko-ji Tomyo Lantern Festival, this enjoyable 1-day tour marks the midpoint of winter and illuminates Nagano’s ancient heart! Including an early dinner at Monzen Terrace Enya, this tour brings warmth and light into the midst of winter in February 2024. Also in February, we are happy to again provide the chance to enjoy the temple at night with an afternoon exploring Nagano's hidden samurai town followed by sake tasting and dinner in Nagano City, with our Tomyo Lantern Festival Tour. Operating from both Hakuba and Nagano, this enjoyable one-day tour marks the midpoint of winter and illuminates Nagano’s ancient heart.
