Our adventure begins promptly at 09:15, gathering at Sannomiya Station. From there, we will journey to our initial destination: the remarkable Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Spanning the Akashi Strait and linking Honshu to Awaji Island, this architectural marvel is the world’s longest suspension bridge, standing as a testament to human ingenuity and engineering prowess. As we approach, prepare to be mesmerised by the sheer scale and elegance of this iconic structure, offering panoramic views of the surrounding seascape.

The Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, also known as Ijokaku, holds a significant place in Kobe’s cultural landscape, nestled amidst the tranquil surroundings of the Akashi Strait in Japan. Constructed during the Edo period, Ijokaku originally served as the residence of a local feudal lord before being recognized as an Important Cultural Property of Japan. Today, it stands as a tribute to Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the revered Chinese statesman and revolutionary leader. Visitors to Kobe can explore this historic building, marvelling at its traditional Japanese architecture while learning about Dr. Sun’s enduring legacy. At Arima Onsen, our first order of business will be indulging in a delicious lunch along the charming onsen street. After satisfying our appetites, you’ll have some free time to explore the area at your leisure. Whether you’re tempted by the local shops offering traditional crafts or eager to sample the renowned Tansan Senbei, a savoury local delicacy, this is your opportunity to immerse yourself fully in the unique flavours and experiences that Arima Onsen has to offer.

After our leisurely exploration of the shopping street, we will regroup to continue our adventure in Arima Onsen. Together, we will venture beyond the bustling shops to explore the tranquil surroundings of the area. Our itinerary will include visits to local shrines, where you can immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere and perhaps offer a prayer for good fortune. We will also take a stroll through the picturesque park, where you can soak in the natural beauty and enjoy moments of relaxation amidst the lush greenery. This part of our journey promises to offer a peaceful contrast to the vibrant energy of the shopping street, allowing us to fully appreciate the rich cultural and natural heritage of Arima Onsen.

As our journey draws to a close after our delightful visit to Arima Onsen, we will travel back to JR Sannomiya Station together to say goodbye.

You can see us immediately after exiting the JR Sannomiya Station – Central Gate. We will be waiting between the ticket office and the 7-11 convenience store. We will be holding up a sign that says “Snow Monkey Resort.”
