Your adventure begins at 9:00 AM at Takayama Station, where you’ll meet your guide and set off in private transport for a scenic drive to Norikura. As you travel, enjoy the picturesque countryside, charming villages, and winding mountain roads that set the stage for the alpine beauty ahead.

At around 10:30 AM, arrive at the Tatamidaira Parking Lot, the gateway to Mt. Norikura’s alpine wonders. Begin with a leisurely walk through the Alpine Flower Field, where vibrant seasonal blooms stand out against the dramatic backdrop of rugged peaks. The tranquil atmosphere invites you to pause, breathe in the crisp mountain air, and appreciate the unique charm of this elevated haven.

Around noon, pause for a relaxing lunch amidst nature, surrounded by stunning alpine scenery. This break offers the perfect opportunity to unwind, enjoy your meal, and recharge for the afternoon’s adventures.

After lunch, the adventure continues with a hike to Mt. Mao, the nearest peak to the Tatamidaira Parking Lot. The trail is easy and well-suited for beginners and families, taking approximately 15 minutes to reach the summit. As you ascend, enjoy the mountain air and the sense of achievement that comes with reaching the top. From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Japanese Alps, offering an incredible perspective of the surrounding peaks and valleys.

From there, proceed to Mt. Fujimi, offering a slightly more challenging hike for those ready to take on the adventure. The meetup point is outside of the ticket gates at JR Takayama Station. Once you have left the gates, look to your left to see a walkway and a carving depicting an ornate wagon. You may wait nearby there until the tour begins at 9:00 A.M. Be sure to look for the guide wearing a SNOW MONKEY RESORTS tour tag. There is also a waiting room with benches nearby for guests who have arrived early and would like to sit down; however, please make sure that you have left the waiting room and are in place at the meetup point at 9:00.

Q. I’d like to join this tour from Tokyo/Nagoya. Is that possible?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to reach the meetup point for this tour on time if leaving from Tokyo/Nagoya on the same day as the tour. We recommend guests to spend the night in Takayama or a nearby area on the day before the tour in order to be able to reach the meetup point by the starting time.
